Information to all members of staff


Publication of the names of jury members

In a spirit of transparency, and in order to align our working methods with current best practice in certain Member States, the administration has decided to proceed with the publication of the names of competition jury members.

This measure will take effect immediately, and will apply to all competitions which will be published henceforth. Publication will be on Europa-Plus for internal competitions, and in the Official Journal for external competitions.

Juries for on-going competitions, who were selected before this measure was announced are at liberty to request that the administration publish a list of their members' names.

You are reminded that the jury's work and deliberations are confidential. It is forbidden for candidates to make direct or indirect contact with the jury, or for anyone to do so on their behalf. Candidates may only use the official procedures, set out in each competition notice, to make their views known to the jury or to avail themselves of their rights. These should be sent in writing to the Head of Unit ADMIN A.2, marked for the attention of the President of the Competition Jury.
It is brought to your attention that, in accordance with Article 30 of the Staff Regulations, the Appointing Authority has appointed the following Selection Board members for competition COM/PB/99.

Member for the Administration :Mr. D. FRANZONE
Alternate Member Administration :Mr. J. LEON LORA
Member for the Personnel :Mr. F. WEILER
Alternate Member Personnel :Mr. F. ANDREONE


Article 6 of Annex III of the Staff Regulations states that the Selection Board's work shall be secret, in order to protect the integrity of their work. As a result, it is forbidden for candidates to make direct or indirect contact with the Selection Board, or for anyone to do so on their behalf.

Any candidate found to have done so will be excluded from the competition.

All correspondence addressed to the Selection Board should be sent by letter or fax to ADMIN/A2 - Recruitment Unit, marked for the attention of the Chairman of the Competition.
