Allowance for living conditions and entitlement to rest leave
Articles 8 and 10 of Annex X of the Staff Regulations
According to paragraph 1 of article 10 of Annex X, the living conditions fixed for each place of employment are reviewed annually. As a result of this exercise, living conditions allowances are fixed as a percentage of a reference amount as defined at the first paragraph of this article.
Under article 8 of Annex X, an official rest leave may exceptionally be granted where living conditions are particularly difficult.
The annexed tables indicate the percentages of living conditions allowances and the exceptional entitlement to rest leave with effect from 1 January 2002 fixed by the European Commission, respectively, 7.12.2001 and 14.2.2002.
