Officials serving outside the European
Union
Allowance for living conditions and entitlement to rest leave
Articles 8 and 10 of Annex X of the Staff Regulations
According to paragraph 1 of article 10 of Annex X, the
living conditions fixed for each place of employment are reviewed
annually. As a result of this exercise, living conditions allowances are
fixed as a percentage of a reference amount as defined at the first
paragraph of this article.
Under article 8 of Annex X, an official rest leave may exceptionally be
granted where living conditions are particularly difficult.
The annexed tables indicate the percentages of living conditions
allowances and the exceptional entitlement to rest leave with effect from
1 January 2003 fixed by the European Commission, respectively, 11.12.2002
and 6.2.2003.
