Subject: Annual adjustment of salaries and pensions 1999

Pursuant to Annex XI to the Staff Regulations ("the Method"), on 17.12.1999 the Council adopted the Commission proposal adjusting salaries and pensions, backdated to
1 July 1999 (see table of basic salaries).

For Brussels and Luxembourg the adjustment is 2,7% (0,9% for the cost of living in Brussels and 1,8 % for national civil servants' purchasing power). For the other places of employment and residence in the Community, the correction coefficients and adjustments are as follows:



The resultant arrears will be paid as soon as possible.
