Attention is drawn to the fact that Article 13 of the Protocol on Privileges and Immunities applies only to statutory staff, officials, temporary agents and auxiliary staff.
Other employees who receive income from employment for the Commission are not covered by the Protocol and therefore cannot invoke exemption from national taxes.

Officials, temporary agents and auxiliary staff of Belgian nationality, having worked for the Commission for the entire year 1999, will receive the certificate automatically by the end of April 2000.

It is therefore not necessary for these employees to return this document.

Staff who benefit from a pension are requested to apply directly to unit Admin.B.6, L86-2/49.
