The above-mentioned dates also apply to Luxembourg, except that Tuesday 21st July is replaced by Tuesday 23rd June, Luxembourg National Holiday.

Work will resume as normal on Monday 4th January 2010. Without prejudice to the schedule of public holidays for 2010, Friday 1st January 2010 will be holidays.

The Commission reserves the right to modify the decisions, should the needs of service so require.

Under the holiday flexibility arrangements, staff may choose to work on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and/or the day following Ascension Day. These are days when the Commission’s offices will remain open.

According to the choice made, one, two or three days will be added to their annual leave entitlement.

Officials wishing to work these days should submit their requests at least three weeks in advance, via their Head of Unit, to the Head of Human Resources of their Directorate-General or Service.

Each Unit will be responsible for monitoring the presence of staff on these dates and will send a list of the relevant members of staff to the Head of Human Resources of their Directorate-General. The list will contain the names, personnel numbers and the dates concerned, and will also specify whether half days or full days were worked.
