NOTICE OF INTERNAL COMPETITIONS

HEAD OF UNIT AD9 (COM/DGT/08/AD9) AND
HEAD OF DEPARTMENT AD12 (COM/DGT/08/AD12)
IN THE FIELD OF TRANSLATION
LANGUAGE DEPARTMENTS:
ESTONIAN, HUNGARIAN, LATVIAN, LITHUANIAN, MALTESE,
SLOVAK, SLOVENE OR CZECH

The European Commission is holding internal competitions with a view to appointing Heads of Language Units (AD9) and/or Heads of Language Departments (AD12) in the field of translation. The successful candidate(s) will be appointed to Directorate A (Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian and Lithuanian language departments) or Directorate C (Czech, Maltese, Slovak and Slovene language departments) of the Directorate-General for Translation (DGT).

This Administrative Notice marks the beginning of the registration procedure. Applications have to be registered on-line. Applicants can also register via this publication.

The closing date for applications is 05/09/2008, with a deadline of 12.00 Brussels time.

For further information, applicants should consult the registration guide (Annex 2). Detailed instructions on how to submit an application correctly are also given on the "Competitions/Selections" page of the PersAdmin website, which includes a Frequently Asked Questions section.

Applicants are asked to print the form "Description of professional experience" (Annex 3), complete it, sign it, attach the required supporting documents (failing which they will be disqualified) and send all of these in a sealed envelope, marked for the selection board's attention, to the address indicated in the internal competition notice.
