2009 medals for 20 years of European public service
This Administrative Notice concerns the awarding of this year's
medals for 20 years of European public service and the publication of
the list of medallists. By presenting its staff with this medal, the
Commission wishes to express its recognition for services rendered to
European integration.
Who is eligible?
This medal is awarded to officials and other staff who have been in
active service for 20 years with the European Institutions and
associated bodies, in application of the Staff Regulations and the
Conditions of Employment of Other staff. The date fixed for the
calculation of seniority is 31 December 2009.
This applies even if there has been an interruption in service, as long
as the total amount of years in activity (possible leave on personal
grounds (CCP) deducted) is equal to 20 years.
How will we celebrate this milestone?
The ceremony for staff achieving 20 years of European public service in
2009 will take place towards the end of the year. Once the date has been
