Weightings applicable in third countries Articles 12 and 13 of Annex X to the Staff Regulations Article 12 of Annex X to the Staff Regulations allows officials serving in third countries to be paid all or part of their remuneration in the currency of the country of employment. Where that is done a weighting is applied to the portion payable in local currency. The weighting for each place of employment is fixed by the Council every six months, as laid down in Article 13(1) of Annex X. When updating the economic parity for Naka in Japan, however, the change in the cost of living for another town with the same name was used by mistake. The Council adopted regulation No 2367/2001(1) correcting the weightings applicable for Naka from 1 July 2000 and 1 January 2001, on 30 November 2001. The enclosed tables show the new economic parities, corresponding exchange rates and resulting weightings for Naka for July 2000 and January 2001. (1)OJ L 320, 05.12.2001, p. 1.
