Flemish Social Care Insurance
Exemption from paying the obligatory contribution for European officials and their dependent family members

!!! The deadline for submitting the questionnaire has been extended until 30/11/2005.

In Administrative Notice 73 of 30/9/05 the Central Office of the Joint Sickness Insurance Scheme (JSIS) informed you about a questionnaire that was going to be sent to all officials, temporary agents, detached teachers and pensioners and to their dependent family members, resident in Flanders and who had already introduced to the Flemish Social Care authorities (the “Vlaamse Zorgkas”) a request for exemption from compulsory membership of their scheme (by means of the certificates issued in previous years, between 2001 and 2005).

In order to sort out your exemption file once and for all, the “Vlaamse Zorgkas”, in accordance with legislation in force in Flanders, asked those living in Flanders to complete a questionnaire and to return it to them by 26/10/2005 at the latest.

In order to comply with the Flemish authority’s request and taking into account the very short timescale fixed by the Flemish authority for returning the questionnaire, a certificate, containing the information requested in Sections 5 and 7 of the questionnaire, was sent to you with all possible speed by the Central Office before 11 October 2005.

It seems, however, that some people have still not received the certificate sent to them by post.

In order to attenuate the effects of these delays, due to circumstances beyond our control, the Central Office hereby informs you that the “Vlaamse Zorgkas” decided on 19 October to extend the deadline for the return of the forms until 30/11/2005.

If you live in Flanders, if you have received a questionnaire in Dutch from the Flemish authorities and if you have not received a certificate from the RCAM by 4/11/2005, you are kindly asked to contact us, as from 7/11/2005, by e-mail:

PMO-RCAM-BRU-ATTESTATION@ec.europa.eu  (from outside)

or by telephone: +32 (0)2 / 295 80 37

Please include the following information: personnel or pension number of the member, the surname, forename and date of birth of the person concerned and your full private address, including the post code.

The certificate will be send to you as soon as possible thereafter.
