Reimbursement of annual medical check-up and further tests for 2007
On 8 May 2007, the appointing authority took the following decision:
Medical fees for an official’s 2007 annual check-up shall be reimbursed up to
a maximum of 42 euro for Brussels, Luxembourg and Ispra.
For the Representations in the Member States, in order that economic realities
be properly reflected in each of the countries concerned, the maximum amount
reimbursable shall be linked to parity coefficients published by the Joint Sickness
Insurance Scheme.
Prior authorisation must be obtained from the Commission’s medical officer for
any further special tests forming part of the check-up programme which the doctor
consulted requests. Prior authorisation is essential if the fees are
to be reimbursed in full by the Commission. The fees for special tests which
have not received prior authorisation may be reimbursed by the Sickness
Insurance Fund, at the rate set in the rules of the Joint Sickness Insurance
Scheme.
Officials employed outside Community territory who submit a duly substantiated
application may be reimbursed fees in excess of the above amount.
Staff employed in Brussels should send claims for reimbursement to the Medical
Service, BRE2 6/397.
Claims for reimbursement for treatment recommended and prescribed following
any further tests undertaken as a result of the check-up should be sent to the
Sickness Insurance Claims Office in the normal way.
