Application of new sickness insurance parity coefficients
from 1 January 2009(1)
This Administrative Notice concerns parity coefficients applicable
by Sickness Insurance for reimbursement of medical treatments from 1
January 2009
In order to ensure equality of treatment of benefits paid for in any of
the Member States of the European Union, and in the knowledge that
important price differences exist between Member States, parity
coefficients are adopted, at least every two years.
The new General Implementing Provisions for the reimbursement of medical
expenses have now been in force for over a year. The last revision of the
parity coefficients took place on 01/07/2007, when the reform of the Joint
Sickness Insurance Scheme (JSIS) came into force. New parity coefficients
have now been calculated, based on the actual prices paid by JSIS members
in the different Member States.
These new parity coefficients are applicable for all medical treatments
which took place after 1 January 2009 and which are subject to a
reimbursement ceiling
The following table
groups together the parity coefficients according to the different
treatments codes.
