FLEMISH SOCIAL CARE INSURANCE. Exemption from making an obligatory contribution for European officials and their dependent spouses Practical instructions. In Administrative Notice n° 30 of 12 April 2002, the Central Office of the Joint Sickness Insurance Scheme informed you that the Flemish authorities agree to the exemption from paying the obligatory contribution to the Social Care Insurance (http://www.wvc.vlaanderen.be/zorgverzekering/) for European officials (including pensioners) and temporary agents, as well as their dependent spouses (those fully covered by the JSIS) and for any of their dependent children aged 25 or over, living in Flanders. The agreement with the Flemish authorities exempts these persons from making an obligatory contribution. However, it leaves open the possibility of making an individual voluntary contribution should you so wish. In order to put the agreement into practice, each person living in Flanders and aged 25 or over, who is either a member or a dependent spouse/child benefiting from primary cover through the JSIS, will receive, by the end of November 2002, a certificate confirming his/her right to exemption from the making the obligatory contribution. If you DO NOT WISH to be a member of the Social Care Insurance (Zorgverzekering): - send this certificate, duly completed, as soon as possible, but in any case by 31 December 2002 at the latest, to the following address: Koning Albert II-laan 7 1210 Brussels Without an exemption certificate, you will be enrolled automatically in the "Vlaamse Zorgkas" from 1 January 2003, with the obligation to contribute. If, on the other hand, you DO WISH to contribute: - Enrol yourself in a "zorgkas", or - After confirmation from the "Vlaamse Zorgkas" of your automatic enrolment do not send in your certificate. IMPORTANT: Anyone falling under the provisions of paragraph 1 who does not wish to enrol in a "zorgkas" and has not received a certificate of exemption by 10 December 2002, is requested to contact, preferably by e-mail at the following address: ADMIN-RCAMINFO@cec.eu.int, or else by telephone (+32 2 29) 53797 (answering machine), mentioning the member's name and personnel number, as well as the name of the beneficiary requesting the certificate in question. | |
