Annex
Luxembourg, 11 October 2005
CONCLUSION 243/05
APPROVED BY THE HEADS OF ADMINISTRATION
AT THEIR 243rd MEETING, ON 6 OCTOBER 2005
Subject:
|
Entitlement to the education
allowance for officials whose children attend nursery school in the
French education system, including in third countries |
- Article 3 of Annex VII to the Staff Regulations provides that an
official shall receive an education allowance for each dependent child,
within the meaning of Article 2(2) of Annex VII, “who is at least five
years old and in regular full time attendance at a primary or secondary
school which charges fees or at an establishment of higher education”.
- For the purposes of applying that article, the final year at a
nursery school in the French education system shall not be regarded as
primary school.
- However, a child attending nursery school in the French education
system may receive the allowance provided for in Article 3(2) of Annex
VII and in Article 15 of Annex XIII.
- With regard to officials serving in third countries, the relevant
provisions of Annex X (Article 15) shall apply to defraying the costs of
attending a primary school and not to the situation provided for in
Article 3(2) of Annex VII.
This Conclusion shall apply from 1 November 2005.
