Annex

Luxembourg, 23 October 2006

CONCLUSION 250/06

APPROVED BY THE HEADS OF ADMINISTRATION
AT THEIR 246th MEETING ON 19 OCTOBER 2006

Subject:      Applicability of the special levy to the compensation paid for leave not taken

Article 66a(1) of the Staff Regulations states that “a temporary measure regarding remuneration paid by the Communities to staff in active employment, to be known as the “special levy”, shall be applied from 1 May 2004 to 31 December 2012”.

For the purposes of applying this provision, the compensation paid at the time of leaving the service to an official who has not used up all his annual leave constitutes part of the remuneration relating to a period during which the official was in active employment.

Consequently, this compensation is subject to the special levy under the conditions laid down in Article 66a of the Staff Regulations.

This Conclusion shall apply from 1 November 2006.
