Luxembourg, 20 April 2007

Revised CONCLUSION 243/05

APPROVED BY THE HEADS OF ADMINISTRATION
AT THEIR 248th MEETING ON 19 APRIL 2007

Subject: Entitlement to the education allowance for officials whose children attend nursery school in the French education system
  1. Article 3 of Annex VII to the Staff Regulations provides that an official shall receive an education allowance for each dependent child, within the meaning of Article 2(2) of Annex VII, “who is at least five years old and in regular full time attendance at a primary or secondary school which charges fees or at an establishment of higher education”.

  2. For the purposes of applying that article, the final year at a nursery school in the French education system shall not be regarded as primary school.

  3. However, a child attending nursery school in the French education system may receive the allowance provided for in Article 3(2) of Annex VII and in Article 15 of Annex XIII.

This Conclusion shall apply from 1 May 2007.
