Redistribution of responsibilities within DG ADMIN

The decision of the Director-General for Personnel and Administration attributing responsibilities within DG ADMIN from 1 October 2006 following reorganisation of the Directorate-General is set out below.

As the Director-General of DG ADMIN is empowered to adopt certain acts concerning staff management, this decision concerns all Commission officials and other servants, apart from local staff. It establishes who (the Director-General himself or within DG ADMIN’s departments) has the authority to adopt
– decisions provided for by the Staff Regulations in respect of officials (these decisions are taken by the Appointing Authority);
– decisions provided for by the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants in respect of temporary, auxiliary and contract staff and special     advisers (these decisions are taken by the Authority Responsible for Concluding Contracts of Employment).

  2. By decision of 12 May 2006, the Director-General for Personnel and Administration subdelegated the powers conferred on him by the Appointing Authority Decision relating to transfer to posts for attested officials. In the interests of clarity, the provisions concerning the subdelegation of the Director-General of DG ADMIN's powers should be recast in a single text,
